Proficiency Based GradingProficiency Based Grading (PBG) is a form of grading being utilized in GSD and in schools across the country. Students will no longer have A-F grades in subjects, but instead will have grades numbered 4-1. The 4-1 scale is not equivalent to letter grades, but instead measures a student's progress on learning the knowledge and skills expected for each grade level. All grades will be based on assessments instead of class assignments, homework, or participation.
Proficiency Based Grading will be used by teachers at Upland Terrace in all subjects as of 2021-2022 school year. This page provides basic information on how your student will receive grades. More detailed information can be found at the Granite School District site. Press the green button links for Granite's parent brochure and the district web page dedicated to PBG. Detailed information for how PBG will be used with Mrs. Duff is provided at the beginning of the year meeting and in the written disclosure. |
